Porthmadog Area

Porthmadog is situated on the impressive estuary of the Afon Glaslyn, a haven for migrating birds and resident breeding ospreys. With a backdrop of hills and mountains it never fails to impress and you will invariably catch sight of a magnificent steam train chugging its way into the station here. Many outlying villages have much on offer too and nearby attractions include the unusual, Italianate village of Portmeirion and the two mile beach of Black Rock, both of which are well worth a visit.

Saif Porthmadog ar aber trawiadol Afon Glaslyn, lloches i adar sy’n mewnfudo a gweilch y pysgod sy’n bridio. Gyda bryniau a mynyddoedd yn gefndir, dydy’r lle byth yn eich siomi ac fe allwch chi bob tro gael cipolwg ar drên stêm godidog yn pwffian mynd i’r orsaf. Mae gan lawer o’r pentrefi cyfagos hefyd lawer i’w gynnig gydag atyniadau lleol yn cynnwys pentref anarferol Eidalaidd Portmeirion a thraeth dwy filltir o hyd Morfa Bychan - y ddau le yn werth eu gweld.
